Gemotion display moves in tandem

gemotionIt looks like there will be no end to the immersion race as screen manufacturers work toward creating displays that show ever more realistic images to the audience. Gemotion takes a slightly different stance - it actually rises and collapses based on the graphics on screen! This is made possible by arranging six dozen air cylinders behind a flexible screen which measures 100cm x 60cm.

When a video is projected onto the screen, the image data will then be transmitted to the cylinders, subsequently pushing and pulling the screen accordingly. It would definitely offer a much more realistic viewing experience, but the technology is far from perfect to deal with fast-changing scenes such as games and action movies.
