Although this castle is not as huge as others, it is unique in the sense that it is the only one in the world that is integrated into a cave system – the 2nd largest cave system in Slovenia. Its name is Predjamski grad which translates to Castle in Front of the Cave. The castle was built sometime during the first half of the 12th century. There's a passage through the cave, which exits on the other side of the hill. Probably this passage and the elaborate cave system were the main reason why the castle was built there in the first place.
